Eye Examinations
We know your vision is important to you – and it’s important to us. When you come for your appointment, we make sure to schedule ample time for your appointment so you will never feel rushed. Our office provides complete eye care for both adults and children. Our comprehensive eye examinations will check your eyes inside and out for any potential eye disorders or diseases. Your visual skills and abilities are carefully evaluated and appropriate treatment is prescribed, whether it’s medication, lenses, or vision therapy. We are prepared to handle whatever your eyecare needs are, and will treat them with the latest in diagnostic equipment and are committed to keeping up with eye care technology.
Contact Lenses
Our professionals can help fit you into a pair of lenses that is just right for you. We are experts in fitting contact lenses and can handle the most specialized needs. Whether rigid or soft lenses, we are experienced in handling the most difficult of prescriptions.
If you have allergies, then you know allergies can be particularly annoying to contact lens wearers. In the past many people had to quit wearing their lenses during the allergy season. However, new lens materials and allergy medications have made it possible for these people to eliminate the burning itchy eyes associated with allergies. Prescription medications such as Pataday, Patanol and Alocril are amazingly effective and safe even in children as young as three. Let us know when you come in for your appointment if you have special allergy needs and we will be happy to help you.
Optical Dispensing
Our optical laboratory has the latest in equipment to not only fabricate your glasses, but to maintain and repair them should they become broken or damaged. We are able to tint, coat, harden and edge spectacle lenses. We are able to provide you with any frame or lens design available. Our highly qualified optician and staff are able to adjust and fit your glasses to you for extended comfort and vision.
We carry many designer frame lines, some of those include: Christian Dior, Maui Jim, Oakley, Versace, Nike, Calvin Klein, Fendi, Prada, Kenneth Cole, and much more.

Digital Retinal Imaging
The technology is now available to capture a digitized image of the back surface of your eye (retina) and all the major structures on your retina. These images are extremely useful in the diagnosis of many ocular diseases such as glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, hypertensive retinopathy, macular degeneration, tumors, etc. It is definitely true when they say, "a picture is worth a thousand words." We offer a complimentary first copy of the digitized pictures of your retina for your personal medical file. If you are over the age of 40, we recommend yearly imaging to monitor for changes in your retina. For more information, please contact our office.
Corneal Refractive Therapy (CRT)
CRT is the first FDA approved myopia reducing therapy that uses specially designed therapeutic contact lenses to reduce or eliminate myopia (nearsightedness) and corneal astigmatism.
Patients undergoing CRT wear the newest technologically advanced gas permeable lenses to sleep. This non-surgical process reshapes the cornea (front part of your eye) while you sleep. You simply remove the lenses when you wake up. You are then able to see at far without the need of any other vision correction devices (i.e. glasses or contact lenses).
The concept of CRT is very similar to orthodontics. Analogy: Orthodontists use braces to reshape your teeth, once your teeth are straight, you continue using a retainer to maintain the shape of your teeth. Optometrists use specially designed gas permeable contact lenses to reshape your eyes. Once your eyes have been reshaped and the desired affect is achieved, you continue using a retainer pair of contact lenses to sleep every night. Just as it is important to continue to use a retainer for your teeth, it is important to use the contact lens retainer at night to maintain good vision during the day. Remember, there are No age restrictions for this therapy. We have patients as young as 8 years of age successfully wearing theses lenses.
If you are interested in finding out more information about CRT, or if you have any questions, please feel free to contact our office at (213) 628-7419. We would be more than happy to send you informational handouts or answer any questions you may have.
Emergencies, Eye Infections, Eye Injuries
Our office provides emergency services for eye infections and eye injuries. Our staff will work with you to schedule an appointment as soon as possible. To make an appointment, please call us at (213) 628-7419.
State of the art microscopes allow us to examine the front surface of the eye and facial areas around the eye for infection or injury. After assessing the extent of the injury or infection a treatment plan will be formulated and explained to you. Treatment may include medications and supportive care. Follow-up visits to monitor your recovery will be scheduled as needed.
Eye Diseases; Cataracts, Glaucoma, Diabetes
If you have special eye diseases such as cataracts, glaucoma, or complications from diabetes, you will require special attention to your eye care. We can effectively manage these conditions and prescribe the appropriate medications or, when necessary, arrange for surgery. We co-manage with surgeons and hospitals to assure your best overall care. If you would like information on any of these eye diseases, be sure to visit our EyeCyclopedia™ for detailed information and photographs that may help you to better understand your eye condition.
Surgery Co-Management
Our office provides working arrangements with eye surgeons and more specialized eye care doctors to provide many of the surgical services such as Cataract surgery, Laser surgery, Refractive surgery and Strabismic surgery, retinal detachments, retinal tears and hemorrhages. You can be assured that your eyes will be comprehensively managed by the best eye care professionals.
LASIK (Laser Surgery)
LASIK (Laser Surgery) vs. Orthokeratology or Corneal Refractive Therapy
YES! We co-manage laser surgery and perform Orthokeratology (Ortho-k) and Corneal Refractive Therapy (CRT). LASIK is an excellent choice for individuals who would like to decrease their dependency on glasses or contact lenses. LASIK is an irreversible surgery that can correct nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism, but not presbyopia.
Orthokeratology and Corneal Refractive Therapy require the use of specialty contact lenses to reshape the front of the eye (cornea) to reduce and/or eliminate nearsightedness and astigmatism. By reshaping their eyes at night patients are able to remain free of glasses or contact lenses during the day. Ortho-k and CRT is reversible, whereas LASIK is not.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at our office (213) 628-7419. If you are interested in "getting to know" our LASIK surgeons, you can visit their websites at www.Maloneyvision.com, www.vision-surgery.com, and www.tlcvision.com.
Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT)
OCT performs high resolution, micron-scale, cross-sectional, or tomographic imaging of the retina and optic nerve. It provides resolutions of 1 to 15 microns, which is one to two orders of magnitude higher than conventional clinical imaging technologies such as ultrasound, magnetic resonance Imaging (MRI), or computer tomography (CT Scan).
This amazing technology is a wonderful tool to use to diagnose and monitor many ocular diseases such as: Macular Degeneration, Epi-retinal membrane, Glaucoma, Macular Edema, Diabetic Retinopathy, to name a few.
